The instrument has a bag in which the air is stored, to which are connected an insufflator called a blowpipe, three fixed sound pipes (the drones), equipped with tuning regulators and a simple reed, and a single melody pipe called a chanter, conical in shape and double reed.

Feeding is by mouth.
