New Totara (Molise)

The new model created and patented by Mario Zuchegna
The new Totara was also unofficially presented in several previews at the Scapoli International Bagpipe Festival on 24 July 2010, achieving success. It is an instrument capable of emitting strong, varied sounds and making almost all the notes of the staff even in minor.
It can be used as a harmonic and even melodic accompaniment instrument for any type of music.
This instrument is made entirely by hand in a faithful copy of the old original model without holes of different sizes and shades.
In the new version, it is made using a ribbon of treated wood fiber, a natural cane tension tube called harmonic inductor, a giant modular, adjustable beating reed made of natural cane tube and plastic which by touching it together with the harmonic tube manages to create notes that are difficult to play have a particular sound.
Furthermore, a brass-plated eye screw, decorative eyelets and support cord are added for finishing.
The latest novelty is the Totarotto presented during the 2012 Bagpipe Festival. It is a small wind instrument, capable of making the melody by working with induction and without holes.
